Here’s What You Missed at Talent Tech NEXT Fall 2018

Did you miss Talent Tech NEXT? Held on September 27th, Talent Tech Labs (TTL) hosted Talent Tech NEXT 2018, this invite-only event is designed to bring the latest in recruiting tech and startups together. This event took place in Mountain View, CA for the second year in a row at the Computer History Museum. Talent Tech NEXT showcased 10 NEXT technology solutions from their ecosystem in a hands-on demo expo. With a guest list including heads of corporate talent acquisition, startup founders and other HR and Staffing leaders, TTL NEXT was a success!

Keynote Presentation

This year’s Keynote speaker featured Neil Frye, Global Head of Recruitment, Operations and Technology at Dropbox. Neil drives Dropbox’s Talent Acquisition teams in expanding and executing stunning people processes for a growing high-tech firm. Currently, he leads the delivery of Recruitment, Onboarding, HR data admin, Global Mobility, Contingent Workforce and People Analytics across 10 countries. Previously, Neil spent more than two years leading teams of business analysts, program managers and supporting engineers who developed world-class Compensation, Payroll, Benefits and Sales Incentive Technology at Google.

NEXTmessage

NEXTmessage is a startup funding and engagement app that is used at the Talent Tech NEXT events. Attendees can use this unique app to spend their $10,000 in NEXTbucks –  a “cryptocurrency” that is used to fund the companies in a friendly competition.

Participants are encouraged to play the role of an investor or “buyer” and “fund” specific companies, amongst the 10 emerging tech’s that are showcased and demonstrated at the NEXT expo. “Buyers” would invest in the different techs that they would want to include in their own Talent Acquisition strategy.   • Total amount invested: $544,000
  • Large companies invested: $102,000
  • Medium companies invested: $166,200
  • Small companies invested: $275,800

NEXT StartUp Exposition

Talent Tech NEXT brought the latest in recruiting technology, with 10 hand-selected and vetted companies showcasing their technology in an interactive expo. Representatives from each company provide a full demo to attendees who acted as potential “buyers.” Funded by Talent Tech Labs’ NEXTmessage system, attendees will have a direct hand in validating these emerging technologies through an interactive “funding” round.

TTL tracks the top “funded” technologies based off of the NEXTmessage system and selects two winning startups to give a full presentation at the close of the program. Meet our NEXT  winner and runner-up startups of the expo funding round:
