Bullhorn Acquires Sirenum

Staffing software maker Bullhorn announced today it acquired Sirenum, a London-based firm.

Sirenum’s customers are staffing companies and other businesses that use the Salesforce platform. Sirenum operates as a staffing-platform-as-a-service; its product allows companies to let workers accept shifts online, clock in and clock out, access pay slips and submit expenses. It also operates as a VMS and provides scheduling; analytics (such as time-to-fill and covered and uncovered hours); workforce monitoring; and tracks employee certifications, licenses and training.

Nearly 500,000 workers use the Sirenum mobile app and the company processes 300,000 shifts per month.

“We’re incredibly excited about the progress we’ve made in driving efficiencies for recruitment agencies using Salesforce, and we’re looking forward to Sirenum’s accelerated growth as part of the Bullhorn family,” said Benjamin Rubin, founder and CEO of Sirenum.

Rubin noted that Bullhorn and Sirenum already have a number of customers in common.

Sirenum was founded in 2013. In February, it announced £2 million in funding from former Tesco CEO Terry Leahy and the William Currie Group. It also won the Dragon’s Den competition at SIA’s Europe Executive Forum in 2018. The Dragon’s Den competition was modeled after the television show Shark Tank; companies competed in front of judges.

“We’re dedicated to helping large, predominantly European staffing companies, many of whom manage thousands of workers per day and have built their businesses on top of the Salesforce platform, succeed in a complex business environment where supporting shift-based workers is a key competitive differentiator,” said Art Papas, founder and CEO of Bullhorn.

Sirenum co-founder Josh Pines will remain with the combined company as VP, international alliances and Salesforce.

The deal closed July 19. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
