Life Sciences Recruiting Platform Clora Acquires Massachusetts-Based Platform

Clora Inc., a platform for recruiting consultants working in life sciences — such as clinical project managers and medical writers — announced this week that it acquired another recruiting platform operating in the life sciences space, Legit.ai.

“This acquisition allows us to accelerate our ability to organize and deploy worldwide life sciences expertise at a time of unprecedented growth in our industry,” Clora CEO Rahul Chaturvedi said. “We are excited to expand the capabilities of our product in response to the growing needs of our customers.”

Legit.ai, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, developed a natural language processing engine to identify the right life sciences expert for a task by mining 40 million scientific publications, patents and clinical trials as well as 2.1 million expert profiles. Legit.ai has worked with customers such as Johnson & Johnson.

Combining the two companies “takes us even closer to our goal of being able to support all of our customers’ talent needs across the lifecycle of product development,” Chaturvedi said.

Clora was founded in 2017 by Chaturvedi, a former head of clinical development at Kaleido Biosciences and Avedro.

Several former Legit.ai employees will join Clora’s team, including CEO and founder Matt Osman, who will become VP of strategy.
