BV Investment Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, announced last week it made a majority investment in Talent Inc., a New York-based provider of professional résumé writing and interview preparation coaching.
Talent Inc. has a network of résumé reviewers operating through core brands that include TopResume, TopCV, TopInterview, ResumeRabbit and ZipJob. Some 20 million people have used its résumé-review services since the company was founded in 2014.
As part of the deal, Byron Matthews will step in as CEO at Talent Inc.; Matthews previously served as chief commercial officer at Korn Ferry Digital.
“The powerful combination of Talent’s technology platform, independent contractor network, and BPO model help job seekers make an impact as they navigate today’s highly competitive employment market,” Matthews said.
In addition, former BV Operating Partner Mike Ricciardelli will join Talent full time as president and chief operating officer.
Former CEO and founder Jeff Berger left Talent Inc. in conjunction with the transaction.
